Brewing Guide

Sift 2 grams of matcha into a cup (to remove lumps). Add 60 - 80 ml of water at 70 - 80°C. Whisk briskly with a chasen in a zigzag motion until frothy. Top up with hot water or your favourite milk - steamed or cold.

Instructions for use & care

To use your matcha chasen, first soak it in warm water for 1 to 2 minutes, to soften the prongs and prevent breakage. Once you have added water to your matcha, whisk it in a zig-zag "M" or "W" motion until it becomes smooth and frothy. After each use, rinse the chasen gently with warm water (no soap), shake off excess moisture, and allow it to air dry upright or on a matcha whisk holder to maintain its shape.
