Crafted from 100% natural white bamboo, our matcha chasen comprises 120 finely carved prongs designed to effortlessly whisk our matcha into a smooth, foamy, cup. Used for centuries in Japanese tea ceremonies, the matcha chasen helps break up clumps, create a smooth, even blend, and bring out matcha’s vibrant flavour and silky texture.

Instructions for use & care

To use your matcha chasen, first soak it in warm water for 1 to 2 minutes, to soften the prongs and prevent breakage. Once you have added water to your matcha, whisk it in a zig-zag "M" or "W" motion until it becomes smooth and frothy. After each use, rinse the chasen gently with warm water (no soap), shake off excess moisture, and allow it to air dry upright or on a matcha whisk holder to maintain its shape.
